Nice that you are interested in my philosphy as a maker and designer.
This is a bit of a personal story, but on a lot of designs I worked together with other designers. I am a specialist on the small to medium series production techniques, and always ready to help other people with getting their product into production.
As you may have noticed on my website, it is hard for me to see designing apart from making. All the products on this page are crafted by my own hands, sometimes with help of CAD/CAM techniques. I prefer objects made by my own hands over stuff you can buy (in shops) anytime. It is a disease I carry along with me for my whole life and can do nothing but accept it and think of new products and making them.
Every day ideas pop up in my mind and I need to draw them on a piece of paper. In a lot of cases this seems to be sufficient, but sometimes I feel the need to materialize the ideas and make the finished product.
This is the case for some 30 years now, but I don't want to bother anybody with all the stuff I created. Some products however, I find so cool that I decided to make them into a little company and try to market and sell them.
I am also very fond of other makers stories of their starting up fase. For instance Leo Fenders story, how he designed the first solid body electric guitar, got it ready for (industrial) production and tried to market them.
I tell this because it is the main reason for my lasting interest in designing and making and thus, the production process. I also found out that it is especially nice to help other people with their project and that is when I started to work on the Academy's.
I now have a few brands of my own, but I'm always willing to help and collaborate with other people and companies. Especially in the case of innovative new ideas, new products in the start-up fase, and production in the fase of growing from a one off, to a small series, I can be a great help.
Don't hesitate to contact me!
